Akiba's Trip: Hellbound & Debriefed is the precursor to Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed, the smash hit that introduced a Western audience to the seedy underworld lurking in the shadows of the haven of “otaku” culture in the Akihabara district of Tokyo. Released as Akiba's Trip Plus in Japan, players explore an accurately modeled recreation of the famous “Akiba” district circa 2012, hunting vampiric foes, and tearing off their clothes to expose them to sunlight. The game has been remade to bring it to modern HD graphical standards, all while retaining the charm of the original classic that started a cult hit series.

synopsis

This game has received a PEGI 16 because it features strong violence and use of strong language. Not suitable for persons under 16 years of age. Violence consists predominantly of group street fights in which the player repeatedly punches, kicks or uses props to beat up his opponents. This causes them to flicker, flinch and cry out. In order to defeat vampires, the player must strip off their clothing to expose them to sunlight. This often leads to a 'tug of war' over the vampire's clothes, which causes the loser to turn blue with exposure. Should they be stripped down to their underwear, they turn black and fade away. No blood or injuries are shown. The opening cinematic of the game features a more realistic scene of violence, depicting a character being beaten up and knocked to the ground in an alleyway, while the body of their friend lies a short distance away. Dialogue includes strong language ('fuck') as well as milder terms, such as 'bitch', 'bastard' and 'shit'.
