The game from 2010 has been remastered for the PS4 with one of Yakuza 4's main protagonists, Masayoshi Tanimura, being recast and getting a visual makeover.

Kamurocho, the entertainment district, is about to be bloodbath again. This time, we have four rising dragons. Each of the protagonists has a different fighting style and each of them has to go through sets of impossible trials to find their destiny. The line between game and reality is further blurred, earlier, in 2009, Sega hosts a beauty pageant, and the seven winners became models of their game avatars. Some of them are bar girls, some are hostesses, visit the "play spots" with them, ask them to date in the spas and sing karaoke with them. The Rising Dragon is looking for a successor, will you be it?

This game is rated PEGI 18 which restricts availability to ADULTS ONLY and is not suitable for anyone below this age. This rating has been given due to depictions of gross violence to humans, violence towards defenceless humans, depictions of sexual threat, use of sexual expletives, and moving images that encourage/teach games of chance. Not suitable for persons under 18 years of age. This game contains infrequent depictions of gross violence towards human-like characters. The most pertinent example of this can be seen in a cutscene where a man is chained up to a pole and repeatedly beaten. The scene concludes with the victim being stabbed in the eye and blinded. This game also contains depictions of violence towards defenceless human characters. In two separate scenes men are restrained and beaten as a form of torture. Both are repeatedly struck by their captor with various weapons. Visible wounds such as cuts and bruises can be seen appearing on their skin, whilst they can be heard grunting and screaming in pain. There is also a scene which contains a depiction of sexual threat. During a cutscene a woman is restrained whilst a man gropes and undresses her against her will. This game also contains frequent use of sexual expletives. The word “fuck” and its derivatives can be found throughout. This game also features moving images which teach and encourage the use of games of chance. The player can enter a traditional casino where they can exchange their in-game money for chips, which can then be used on traditional table games such as poker, blackjack and roulette. Multiple characters are depicted smoking and drinking throughout the runtime of the game. This is primarily seen during the games cutscenes.
